Here we are all about getting our Trek on using the Star Trek Adventures system as published by Modiphius Games . You can find these rules for sale on Drive-Thru RPG in PDF format or on their website. You should also be able to find the rules for sale at gaming stores in your country if you want a physical copy and buying directly from Modiphius isn't feasible.

While you can use any of the rules books you like, you only need the Core Rules and/or Captain's Log, the latter being optimised for solo or duo play but also helpful for character development for group play.

Being the Sci-Fi, interplanetary franchise that spans real-world decades and fictional millennia that Star Trek is, we have a lot of space to go around. Like the TV shows, films, novels and other bits of canon and beta canon that we all know and love, here on the League of Whimsy we share our universes both with actual canon and each other.

Sharing universes means that the ships, stations, characters, species, events and everything else that are created in the process of play exist not just for their creators but also for the rest of the sever also playing in that same universe. This is good to keep in mind because there won't be two identically named ships running around at the same time unless some time shenanigans are happening or people are stealing from the fleet museum… again.

Sharing is great as it gives our stories a richer texture because they are part of a broader tapestry. While you can't be expected to read everyone's logs, we will have a place for people to submit a brief summary of their missions so that we can maintain a broad idea of the goings on in the fleet.

There are four options currently for you to play from, the three “Standard” universes which are the “Prime” universe, the “Mirror” Universe and the “Kelvin” Universe. The fourth option is “Other” universes in case there's an itch you really want to scratch that none of the others can reach.

• The Prime Universe is the same universe that hosts all of the shows the majority of the time, TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, DIS, LD, PIC, SNW and all of the corresponding movies.
• The Mirror Universe is the dark mirror of the prime universe where the Federation never had a chance to take root. It doesn't have its own series but shows up with regularity in the regular series. Episodes include: TOS: Mirror, Mirror [2×04], TOS: The Tholian Web [3×09], DS9: Crossover [2×23], and DS9: Through The Looking Glass [3×19], amongst many others.
• The Kelvin Universe is the universe created for the Star Trek movies starting with Star Trek (2009) by JJ Abrams. This is sometimes also known as AOS (Alternate Original Series) or JJ Verse for the Lens Flare enthusiast himself.
• The Other universe is really for anything else. It's not one universe, it's whatever universes you want to make of it.
